The Family

Hello everyone. Happy Summer! Today I have a trailer for a Comedy, or perhaps a bit of a Dark Comedy. The movie is 'The Family'. It's about a family, who was a part of the mob, that testified for the government and had to go into the Witness Protection Program. This ex-mob family is now hiding out in France and causing trouble. Let's take a look at the trailer.

I might be crazy, but I just love mob movies! This one looks like a lot of fun. Ever so slightly spoofy I'd expect, which I like. I love the way the kids seem to have picked up how to take care of business "the family way". A little extortion here, some bruising there, all in a days work.

You rock that beard!
The first thing I noticed was Robert De Niro. I love it! Seeing him in a mafia roll never gets old. Of course, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones are cool too, but De Niro wins! Somehow that guy just gets better and better with age.

It's not rated yet but from the looks of things I would guess that it'll be 'R' for violence. Some of the clips looks a little much for PG-13. It might be too much for some people but I know I'm going to see it.

All in all it looks funny, exciting, and (in a way) lighthearted. A good summer movie! I'm stoked about it!

UPDATE: I have since seen this movie and written a review.

Emergency at the Pony Express

It was a hot dusty day at the Pony Express station. There were no packages coming and the riders were getting antsy. Jesse, the youngest rider at age 16, was re-shoeing his pony, and Kale, Jesse’s older brother, was sitting on the porch watching the Texas dust blow. Jesse stood up, patted the pony and said, “Well Sarah, we are ready to go now.” He then walked to the water barrel and drank a large ladleful, liquid rolling down his shirt. Kale looked at the horizon and saw two dark silhouette’s approaching. “Hey Jesse!” Kale hollered, “I think a job’s a- comin’.” Jesse looked around the corner of the station to see the figures growing by the second. He quickly ate a biscuit, then stood on the porch watching as the men arrived. The men were obviously military, both wearing navy blue uniforms, their horses were stark black with manes and tales cut short. “What can we do for you’s today?” Kale asked. “We need you to deliver a package to Baton Rouge, Louisiana,” one of the men said. ...

DISNEYLAND 2007!!!!!

This last week, May 13 through 17, I was in Disneyland, California! We flew into John Wayne airport and settled into our hotel room in time to see a WONDERFUL fireworks show out our window above Disneyland! Early the next morning we used our early admittance tickets and entered the park an hour early! That was a fun filled day as we hit every ride we wanted including The Indiana Jones ride three times, The Pirates of the Caribbean ride two times, and many others! We were fortunate that they opened Splash Mountain the day we arrived when we had read that it would be closed, a happy surprise! Another Happy surprise was seeing crewmen setting up the set where Pirates of the Caribbean will Premiere, on May 19. The next day we went to Disney's California Adventure where we enjoyed Elevators that dropped ten floors (we rode that twice), and many very very fast roller-coasters! We ended this day with a water rafting ride that COMPLETELY drenched my Mom... hilarious. : ) All in good fun. O...

Kumea

Kumea (Koo-may) was a little girl. She was the age of ten and always wore pigtails clasped with a bright blue ribbon. Every morning Kumea woke up early, with the sun, and helped her mother tend to the rice farm in beautiful Japan. This farm year was different than all the others. The rice paddy was a sickly brownish yellow instead of bright lush green, and at night she would hear her parents talking about how the emperor would take their farm away if the weather didn’t change. One morning Kumea was gathering water from the creek when she thought she heard movement in the forest behind her house. Kumea took a little cup, filled it with water, and carried it over to a small yellow flower behind a shed. Slowly she poured water on the flower like she had done for weeks when her mother wasn’t looking. Just then a large cart approached the farmhouse with armored soldiers in it. Kumea peeked around the corner of the shed and watched the soldiers walk to her Father. The soldiers and her f...
