Hello all! I know that I haven't checked in for quite some time. Not to make excuses, but it's not my fault! I have been watching trailers and none of them have been any good. Movies I have also watched, and they were so forgettable that I didn't even bother with a blog about it. Finally, the trailer drought is over and I have a few new trailers to share with everyone! Hurray! I want to start with the one I like the best. 'The Birder's Guide To Everything'. The trailer for this is bizarrely difficult to find! Good morning everyone! Today I have a trailer. I don't really know what I think about this one. I've been sitting on it for a couple days trying to decide if I want to blog it or not. Obviously, I decided to go for it! The trailer is for a movie called 'American Hustle'. The cast is so eclectic! Jenifer Lawrence, Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, and Jeremy Renner. They are all so good in such different ways! Cooper, Bale, Renner, and Lawrence I absolutely adore! Just thinking about them all on screen together makes me want to squeal like a teenage fan-girl. Frankly, the idea of them all together just seems like a massive, glorious, charisma bomb. Let's take a look at the trailer now. It just looks so well done! I can't help myself! I definitely see potential for failure in that trailer but I also see potential for fabulous greatness! I don't know which way it will go. Happy Saturday! Today I come laden with trailers. These trailers, at first glance, seem rather generic but if you watch them all the way to the end I think you'll find your curiosity stirring within you. That's what happened to me anyway. I hope you will feel the same. First is 'How I Live Now'. This trailer starts out looking like a commonplace Indie flick and then there is a serious tonal change. Let's take a look shall we? At first I was very confused by how it looked modern day and the war references didn't make sense. I did a little digging and this movie is based off a novel about an American going to Britain just as a war breaks out. It looks interesting to say the least! As long as there isn't too much angsty teenage romance that is. All I know is that the trailer drew me in. If it proves to be good is yet to be seen. Next, is 'Winter's Tale'. Hello all! I have a trailer today. When I found this trailer, I was so thrilled. I felt like I had just discovered buried treasure. It's made by the French in English. So that's why there are French subtitles on the trailer. Here we go! It's just so charming! The cinematography grabbed my attention and the story grabbed my heart. I feel like the trailer really stands on its own feet. The only real question is Helena Bonham Carter, Hollywood's wild card. I think she'll do great. We all know she is capable of sane, serious roles, and we get to see that I think. All in all, keep your eyes out for this one! I expect great things!

Today, I have two new trailers to share with everyone. I am going to start with the one I am particularly excited about. Let's get going! 'The Company You Keep'. A new movie directed and starring Robert Redford. I feel like I could stop there and that would be enough to make me watch this movie. But no there is more. Shia LaBeouf is also in this movie. Now, we all know that Shia has made some pretty bad career choices in the past. 'Indiana Jones 4' and all those wretched 'Transformer' movies have made me doubt his acting and his ability to choose a good script. But he has so much potential! If anyone can take Shia and make him shine it would be Robert Redford. Seriously. On top of all that Sam Elliot is in the movie too! Today I have the trailer for 'Grace Unplugged'. This trailer surprised me. I mean, I actually sat there mouth agape. No, not because the movie looked unbelievably incredible, but because a Christian movie was being released in the theatre. I mean, Lionsgate is involved here, that's a legit company! If you've ever watched a Christian movie I'm sure you know what I mean when I say that they're a bit corny. They try really hard but it's small budget with tiny unknown actors and no one on the crew really has that much experience. It's quite a shame because there is usually some gem of an idea in the middle and it just wasn't managed well. The fact that this kind of movie is coming out with some strength is fantastic! First, I would like to apologise about the massive gap in my post history. Frankly, none of the movie news I have been reading has been interesting enough to write about. You dropped the ball Hollywood!  Anyway, I have hit the twitchy phase in blog withdrawals so I am back! I have a trailer and I am ready to rock-n-roll! 'The Internship'. So, normally I don't like Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughn movies but this one caught my eye. Honestly, the trailer made me laugh out loud so I am sharing it with you. It has every capability to be either funny and clever or stupid and dirty. I feel like the trailer leans in the witty direction but there are just enough cheap jokes to make me wary. Hello, movie watchers! I have stumbled upon a new trailer that I think is worth sharing with everyone. Today we are going to be looking at 'The Kings of Summer'. Here is the trailer. As you can see, Hollywood is taking another whack at the coming of age genre. Good for them because 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' was absolutely terrible and the kids right now need a better story to latch onto. I find in these sorts of stories they have a tendency to get incredibly serious at the end and generally ruin everything. I hope that this movie goes against that trend and is exactly what the trailer makes it look like it is. A funny, witty, dramedy about boys who are at that age where they really want to start managing their own lives. If the movie is like that I get the feeling it will be pretty darn good! It's a beautiful fall morning and I have a very charming looking trailer for today. The name of the movie is 'Belle' it's a Period Piece, and is set in England. It's based on a true story. Let's take a look shall we? It looks well done, gorgeous, and thought provoking. All things that I heartily appreciate in a good film. The story is quite unique and I find myself curious about how it will end. The feel of the trailer reminds me of the movie 'Amazing Grace' which tackles a somewhat different angle on the same general topic. If it's anything like that then this will be a good movie! I can't help but chuckle at the presence of Tom Felton. The Draco Malfoy actor from 'Harry Potter' always seems to play the bad guy. It's a shame really. I'd love to see him play a hero. All in all, I was charmed just enough by this trailer for me to decide to share it with everyone. I'm rather looking forward to seeing it!

Hello all! Today I am going to be looking at the forthcoming X-Men movies. If you have been watching this franchise over the last decade you will know that A: There are a lot of them, and B: They have spanned centuries and have even managed two sets of actors to play the same characters at different ages, for some and not all the X-Men. Well, as if five movies wasn't enough there are two more in production right now. They are set for release in 2013 and 2014. Also, they are both sequels (ish) to the two different plot lines they have running. By sequel, they may just be set immediately after the previous installments because they were pretty well wrapped up when we left them. First out the gate will be 'The Wolverine'. This movie is said to be set after 'X-Men: The Last Stand' or in other terms, modern day. Wolverine, AKA Hugh Jackman, is going to travel to Japan to train with a Samurai. My first reaction to this was, "Really??? That's so cheesy!!"...

New day, new trailer!  You may or may not have heard that there is a new adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz" coming out soon(ish). I have, and I would like to say a few things to say about it. Right out the gate I want to touch on James Franco. Personally, I feel like James Franco has been going downhill on the 'Quality Acting' scale and skyrocketing the 'I think you are a creeper' scale. Just know, that there was a time when he was very highly ranked on my male actor charts, I thought he was going places, but he kind of petered out. Throw in those weird Tweets and we have a floundering creeper actor by the name of James Franco. Now they take Franco and mix him with 'The wizard of Oz'. I never really liked the books or original movie growing up. The monkeys scared me and I didn't like to think about people existing and living without a heart or brain. Hello everyone! Today I have two movies that are both very different and incredibly similar. They are both set during WWII. One is set within Nazi Germany and the other is set in Germany's path of conquest. I am going to start with 'The Book Thief' and save my favorite for last. Trailer first shall we? It looks SO intriguing! Every story becomes ten times more intense when it is set in Germany during WWII. We have all the stresses of adoption plus the fact that they are harbouring a Jewish man. I must say, the first thing that I notice is Geoffrey Rush. That man has mad acting skills and he usually chooses really good scripts. Happy Sunday, everyone! I have two trailers today! Lately, I have been going over, primarily, well known movies and I want to give fair attention to the understated and more thoughtful films as well. I have a good feeling about both these movies. They are very dissimilar in every way except that they will be thought provoking. So, put your thinking cap on! I am going to start with 'Day of the Falcon'. As far as I can tell this movie used to be called 'Black Gold' and has already been released in France in 2011. I guess it takes longer then I thought for movies to hop the pond! But no matter. It's coming out this year in the U.S. The movie is set in the 1930's at the beginning of the oil boom in the Middle-East. My first reservation is Antonio Banderas, because he is not a very consistent actor. He is a very wide-swinging pendulum on the quality scale. Today I stumbled upon this interesting little trailer. Let's watch it first. This trailer first grabbed my attention with the cast! I'm sorry, but if Harrison Ford is in a movie I am nearly ALWAYS going to watch it. Even besides him there is quite the talented cast. Ben Kingsley and Asa Butterfield are working together again which is fantastic! Asa, as you may remember, was Hugo in 'Hugo'. Those two were a great pair. I don't know if they will interact much in this movie but I'm glad all the same. That was just the hook for me though. After seeing the trailer, I admit, I'm intrigued! Aliens, outer space, some sort of galactic war; it sounds good to me! As far as I can tell Ford starts training children as soldiers because they are unpredictable to the aliens. First things first, this is my 100th blog post! Exciting moment! Okay, moving on. Today I want to talk about the movie 'A Hijacking'. When I first saw this trailer I immediately connected it with  'Captain Phillips'  in my mind. Both are about Somali Pirates and both involve a hostage situation on a cargo vessel. When I wrote about  'Captain Phillips'  I was very excited! Now we have 'A Hijacking' and an obvious compare and contrast ensues. I have never understood why, periodically, two movies that are shockingly similar both come out at the same time. Recently we have had 'White House Down' and Olympus Has Fallen', even the titles are practically the same. In the past there has been 'Madagasgar' and 'The Wild', 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and 'Mirror Mirror', 'The Illusionist' and 'The Prestige', and let us not forget the great penguin overload a few years back. While I busy myself trying to keep my finger on the movie pulse I, naturally, encounter multitudes of trailers. Obviously, I don't post about every trailer I watch, only the ones that strike me as worthwhile. There are a lot of trailer that just barely don't make the cut. Through all my observing I have noticed a stunning trend that I believe is rather unique. There are five Christian movies that have come out/will come out over the period of a year. Obviously, Christian movies come out all the time, they just usually don't make it to the movie theatre. It's really a direct to DVD market. That's what's so strange! All these movies are coming out and they are going to the theatres and some of them even have people you've heard of in them. Let me show you what I mean. I have another trailer for everyone! This one is a new Johnny Depp movie where he isn't wearing a lot of make-up. Gasp! It looks mind bendy, Sci-Fi, and a bit thriller-y. Here is the trailer. I think it looks interesting and fun! There appears to be the moral debate over AI which is always interesting. I'm not sure whats up with the end of the trailer when everything starts dissolving. They better have a good explanation for how a computer can just start to dissolve stuff. All in all, it looks like it'll probably be all right!

I have a quick trailer post today. Here is 'Haute Cuisine'. I feel like the trailer give you very little insight into the actual  plot  though it gives you plenty of information about how the movie will feel.  Honestly, I'm not sure whether the primary spoken language is French or English. None the less, I have a good feeling about this trailer. I suppose that's a given, I wouldn't be posting it if I didn't think it would be good! Boiled down I think that it will be an interesting, charming, fun, and mouthwatering movie. Also, it looks beautiful. If the rest of the film shares the same cinematography then we are in for a treat! Frankly, I have a sweet spot for cooking movies and this definitely fits the bill! I know I'm excited to watch it!

Hello everyone! Today's point of interest is 'Jack the Giant Slayer'! If you've read my  previous post  you'll know a bit of how I feel about these kinds of movies. Generally speaking, when Hollywood takes classic children's stories and tries to make them hardcore they fail. Not always, mind you! I am looking at this one for two reasons: Ewan McGregor, and the fact that the trailer actually looks kinda good. Let's look at the trailer before I go any farther. Not bad right? It's not taking itself too seriously and I also don't see signs of EXTREME silliness. Which is good. The dialog sounds whitty and the overall look is charming and whimsical. I love Ewan McGregor's hair, it's kinda Pompadour-y. McGregor's character looks hilarious: The silly, overconfident knight in shining armor. I may be biased, I have always favored him as an actor. The time has come to talk about 'Star Trek'.  Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the previous 'Star Trek' and I am hoping for a legit encore performance!  Here is the trailer I will be discussing. It looks pretty good right? I find very little to criticize and plenty to be happy about. The exception is one simple, tiny, part of the trailer. Checkov is wearing a red shirt. They better not kill him. Seriously, he is one of my favorite characters, I would probably cry. Moving on... Besides that I see fabulous graphics, vivid shots of Chris Pine's blue eyes (if you've got 'em, flaunt 'em.), and general 'Star Trek'-y awesomeness! We do have a few shots of our new villain, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. The identity of Cumberbatch's character isn't revealed as of yet. I've heard whisperings of Khan around.
