Saving Mr. Banks

All right people, it's trailer time! Today we have the story of Walt Disney creating 'Mary Poppins'. Here's the trailer.

Just try and tell me that doesn't looks good! I'm so excited! It looks incredibly interesting, well acted, beautifully done, and just plain great! I absolutely love the idea of Tom Hanks playing Disney, he'll do a fantastic job. It looks whimsical and witty and I think it will capture that glorious spirit we all know Walt Disney had.

The story itself is so intriguing! How did 'Mary Poppins' come to be? I don't know about you, but I want to find out.

Honestly, I have very little to say besides that it looks extremely promising!

UPDATE: I have Since seen this movie and written a review, here.

  1. I want to see it!! I grew up on Mary Poppins! I wonder why it is PG-13 though?

  2. Well, it says it's for thematic elements including some unsettling images. Perhaps something traumatic happens to Emma Thompsons' character when she was young?

Kumea (Koo-may) was a little girl. She was the age of ten and always wore pigtails clasped with a bright blue ribbon. Every morning Kumea woke up early, with the sun, and helped her mother tend to the rice farm in beautiful Japan. This farm year was different than all the others. The rice paddy was a sickly brownish yellow instead of bright lush green, and at night she would hear her parents talking about how the emperor would take their farm away if the weather didn’t change.

Kumea took a little cup, filled it with water, and carried it over to a small yellow flower behind a shed. Slowly she poured water on the flower like she had done for weeks when her mother wasn’t looking.

Just then a large cart approached the farmhouse with armored soldiers in it. Kumea peeked around the corner of the shed and watched the soldiers walk to her Father. The soldiers and her fa…

'B' and 'B'

'Brave' and 'Bernie'! Two movies that are similar in no way. Except, of course, they both start with 'B' and they have both been nominated for awards this year. As I'm sure you can guess, I am very excited about awards season. I am developing a mild case of Oscar frenzy. I want my favorites to win! In preparation, naturally, I have been watching a lot of the movies I have seen pop up at the awards shows that have already happened. I would have gotten around to them eventually, but the timing is too good!

First is 'Brave'! I have wanted to see this movie since the moment I heard is was going to exist. I love Disney-Pixar and their movies together. I'm a child at heart and I'm not sorry! Netflix took its sweet time getting 'Brave' sent to my mailbox but I finally saw it.  Boy was it more then I ever expected! I hadn't really looked into it that much. I saw the words Pixar and I knew I would watch it so there wasn't any reason to…
