Warm Bodies

Hello again! Today I am going to talk about 'Warm Bodies'. I watched this movie in the theatre yesterday and was overjoyed at what I saw! As you may remember, I wrote about the trailer a little while ago. I'm glad to say that my good impressions of the trailer were more than accurate. I adored this movie! No joke! Yes, I have a paralyzing fear of zombies, but this movie has SO LITTLE zombie violence that I was able to forget about the fact that the main character was, in fact, dead. Just in case you don't know what the heck I am talking about, 'Warm Bodies' is a zombie comedy where a young male zombie feels some pity or sadness on a young girl while massacring her friends. He than rescues the girl from certain death. The unlikely pair come to understand each other and many adventures follow. The idea is that the zombie is regaining his human emotions and curing himself, and the cure is capable of spreading. All you need is love right?

These are words I have actually used to describe this movie to other people: Charming, sweet, adorable, exciting, interesting, unique, hilarious, heart-warming(haha, get it?), lovable, uplifting, and last but not least, just a great movie! Something I bet a lot of people didn't pay much attention to was the acting! I thought that Nicholas Hoult did a brilliant job! You may recognize him from 'About a Boy', he was the boy, Marcus. This guy was a great actor when he was 10 so naturally he is even better now! Also, he is Jack in the new 'Jack the Giant Killer', which I have still neglected to see. Anywho, back on topic, I think that this movie reaches out beyond the normal zombie fan base and is capable of pleasing a much wider audience. I laughed out loud several times throughout the film which is quite rare for me! When I walked out of the theatre one of the first thoughts I had was, "Well, I'm definitely going to be seeing that movie again!" I think by now you see that I thoroughly loved my viewing experience. I feel like I should mention John Malkovich, he was awesome. That sums it up. My advice to you is this, go see this movie!

    Good review Cassie. It’s something that you’ll have a good time in the theaters but you wouldn’t rush it too quick to see it. I would definitely recommend it to audiences who want something more in the zombie genre.

    I can't believe Marcus is the zombie! That's amazing. How I love About a Boy. Now even I, a woman terrified of zombie movies, MUST see this flick. You have convinced me. Thanks!

It was a hot dusty day at the Pony Express station. There were no packages coming and the riders were getting antsy. DISNEYLAND 2007!!!!!

This last week, May 13 through 17, I was in Disneyland, California! We flew into John Wayne airport and settled into our hotel room in time to see a WONDERFUL fireworks show out our window above Disneyland! Early the next morning we used our early admittance tickets and entered the park an hour early! That was a fun filled day as we hit every ride we wanted including The Indiana Jones ride three times, The Pirates of the Caribbean ride two times, and many others! We were fortunate that they opened Splash Mountain the day we arrived when we had read that it would be closed, a happy surprise! Another Happy surprise was seeing crewmen setting up the set where Pirates of the Caribbean will Premiere, on May 19. The next day we went to Disney's California Adventure where we enjoyed Elevators that dropped ten floors (we rode that twice), and many very very fast roller-coasters! We ended this day with a water rafting ride that COMPLETELY drenched my Mom... hilarious. : ) All in good fun. O...

Kumea

Kumea (Koo-may) was a little girl. She was the age of ten and always wore pigtails clasped with a bright blue ribbon. Every morning Kumea woke up early, with the sun, and helped her mother tend to the rice farm in beautiful Japan. This farm year was different than all the others. The rice paddy was a sickly brownish yellow instead of bright lush green, and at night she would hear her parents talking about how the emperor would take their farm away if the weather didn’t change.
