Three Wild Cards

Hello, movie lovers! I have three trailers today. They are all incredibly different but they have something in common. The trailers intrigue me but I just can't decide whether or not I think they will be good. Three wild cards. First I have 'The Railway Man'. Trailer first. The movie doesn't have a poster yet. This is the book cover! All right. So, it definitely piques my interest but it has the possibility to be so dark. I certain level of darkness is bound to be present but I hope they leave a lot to the imagination. The fact that it is based on a true story, naturally, makes me want to see it ten times more then if it were not. Sadly, I couldn't find a movie rating on the Internet. If it's 'R' we are probably in for some grit and torture. I'm pretty sure curiosity is going to get the best of me, I'll let you know the aftermath! Next, we have 'Last Days On Mars'. Yes, it's a Sci-Fi movie set on Mars. It's an ...

Star Trek Into Darkness ~ Nerd Heaven!

I know I'm a bit delayed on this review. The movie has been out a few weeks but I've been out of town and have only now had the opportunity to go to the theatre. Anyway, here goes! 'Star Trek Into Darkness' is one of those movies I have been anticipating for some time now. As you may remember, I wrote about the trailer when it first came out.  I was thoroughly satisfied and frankly overjoyed with this movie! If you are into 'Star Trek' this movie should satisfy any nerdy cravings! Let's get down to business. Let's start with the characters themselves; they were all very satisfying! Chris Pine seems more confident and comfortable in his role as Kirk, Zachary Quinto rocks it as Spock, and Simon Pegg is the perfect comic relief as Scotty. To my great joy, Uhura WASN'T purely present as a cheap thrill for 13 year old boys. Her character actually got to do some real work and be a valuable team member. Good job Uhura! Of course, the primary question is...

Ender's Game

Today I stumbled upon this interesting little trailer. Let's watch it first. This trailer first grabbed my attention with the cast! I'm sorry, but if Harrison Ford is in a movie I am nearly ALWAYS going to watch it. Even besides him there is quite the talented cast. Ben Kingsley and Asa Butterfield are working together again which is fantastic! Asa, as you may remember, was Hugo in 'Hugo'. Those two were a great pair. I don't know if they will interact much in this movie but I'm glad all the same. That was just the hook for me though. After seeing the trailer, I admit, I'm intrigued! Aliens, outer space, some sort of galactic war; it sounds good to me! As far as I can tell Ford starts training children as soldiers because they are unpredictable to the aliens. A little dark, but I can deal with it. I know it was a very popular book series which means that they should have plenty of material. Frankly, I just have a good feeling about this movie. I hope I...
