Hours

So check this trailer out. Can we just talk about how heartwarming this is? I mean, obviously the wife dying isn't heartwarming but the paternal connection certainly is! It just looks so very intense, which will hopefully be good. It will be a bit difficult watching because it's Paul Walker. Post mortem movies always have that certain grim feel. We shall see! It's a short but sweet post today! Talk to you all again soon!

Captain Phillips ~ Magnificent

It's that kind of day again! 'Captain Phillips' has been released, I have rushed out to see it at the very first showing, and now I have plenty to say about it! You may remember that I guessed that it would be pretty great when I blogged about the trailer.  Well, I wasn't disappointed, let me put it that way! 'Captain Phillips', as you may already know, is a movie about the real life events that happened a few years back when the Somali Pirates attacked and captured an American freighter. You might remember the story being pasted all over the news. If you followed the story, you probably already know how it ends. That doesn't matter at all. This movie is gripping, chilling, and in some strange way, beautiful. I grew attached to so many character very quickly! Every single scene has you holding your breath, fully involved in what is happening on screen. Truly, when the scene of the pirates boarding the ship came on screen, it was the quietest I've ever ...

Three Wild Cards

Hello, movie lovers! I have three trailers today. They are all incredibly different but they have something in common. The trailers intrigue me but I just can't decide whether or not I think they will be good. Three wild cards. First I have 'The Railway Man'. Trailer first. The movie doesn't have a poster yet. This is the book cover! All right. So, it definitely piques my interest but it has the possibility to be so dark. I certain level of darkness is bound to be present but I hope they leave a lot to the imagination. The fact that it is based on a true story, naturally, makes me want to see it ten times more then if it were not. Sadly, I couldn't find a movie rating on the Internet. If it's 'R' we are probably in for some grit and torture. I'm pretty sure curiosity is going to get the best of me, I'll let you know the aftermath! Next, we have 'Last Days On Mars'. Yes, it's a Sci-Fi movie set on Mars. It's an ...

The Fifth Estate

DOUBLE POST DAY! You may celebrate however you see fit. I have a trailer that I just couldn't wait to share. 'The Fifth Estate'. Trailer first. That's right people. WikiLeaks. You may or may not already be aware that this movie is coming. There has been a lot of buzz about it for a long time. I. Am. So. Excited! This movie is so up my alley! I love a good intelligent, political drama. This one is so relevant that the interest is through the roof. Let's break it down shall we? The acting. Benedict Cumberbatch is Assange. Perfect, I love it. Stanley Tucci appears to be some sort of Washington man. He can pull that off I'm sure. David Thewlis appears to be a friend of Assange. I love that actor so much. I'm totally biased when it comes to Thewlis. As if that wasn't enough Peter Capaldi (The 12th Doctor in 'Doctor Who') and Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley of 'Downton Abbey') are also present. I am overwhelmed by this awesome lineup! I ma...

Prisoners

Happy Saturday everybody! Today I have a trailer for a suspense/thriller/drama. 'Prisoners'. Let's watch. Now, I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this one. Frankly, if they have something garish happen to small children I'm out. If they are just trapped somewhere, I'll be fine. If they are tortured in any way then no, not cool Hollywood! It looks like they are going to have a lot of moral dilemma's. How far are you willing to go to rescue your children? Most parents will say that they will do anything for their kids, but to they mean it? I think this movie will be interesting, and very emotional. I absolutely love the idea of Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Terrence Howard all in the same movie. I am very excited to see how they work off of each other. Of course, the fact that Gyllenhaal's character is named "Detective Loki" cracks me up. It seems like a joke or something! Jackman and Howard look like they are going to flex thei...

A Hijacking

First things first, this is my 100th blog post! Exciting moment! Okay, moving on. Today I want to talk about the movie 'A Hijacking'. When I first saw this trailer I immediately connected it with  'Captain Phillips'  in my mind. Both are about Somali Pirates and both involve a hostage situation on a cargo vessel. When I wrote about  'Captain Phillips'  I was very excited! Now we have 'A Hijacking' and an obvious compare and contrast ensues. I have never understood why, periodically, two movies that are shockingly similar both come out at the same time. Recently we have had 'White House Down' and Olympus Has Fallen', even the titles are practically the same. In the past there has been 'Madagasgar' and 'The Wild', 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and 'Mirror Mirror', 'The Illusionist' and 'The Prestige', and let us not forget the great penguin overload a few years back. It seems like usually whic...
