Into The White ~ Thumbs Up!

As you may remember, a few month back I  posted the trailer for 'Into The White'.  Well, I watched it last night and I must say, I wasn't disappointed! If anything, this movie was even better then I expected. Let's get into some details shall we? This is a serious movie. Yes, there are some light moments, but the majority is tense and attention grabbing. I was expecting a bit more hiking about in the Norwegian countryside but no. Most of the movie is set in one, tiny, hunting cabin during WWII. The basic premise is that a British plane and a German plane shoot each other down over Norway. The both crash within three or four miles of each other and both crews end up at the same cabin. There are three Germans and two Englishmen. The Germans have more people and pistols so they take the British as POW's. It's a bit silly really, they are all trying to survive together but one group must be in charge. The story then follows all the little power struggles, surviv

How To Know I'm Not Your Average Girl...

I have two trailers today. I actually laughed out loud to myself when I realized how different they are and that I was going to post about them at the same time! No one can honestly accuse me of having ordinary taste, that's for sure! I am going to start with 'Escape Plan'. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, together, escaping from prison. Trailer first! It just looks so fun! I can't help myself. Seriously, I know that they have worked together on 'The Expendables' but those movies were too much for me. I can't get into them. This looks like it's a bit closer to my speed. It won't be super thought provoking and whatnot but this time I don't care! I love a good action romp and I think 'Escape Plan' will fit the bill quite nicely. Now, in the complete opposite part of the cinema world, we have 'Austenland'. Yes, it's a Jane Austin movie, sort of. Just to be clear, I am not one of those Austin obsessed g

RED 2 ~ Hilarious, Adventerous, and Fun!

Well, I couldn't help myself. I had to see 'RED 2' opening day. I absolutely adored the first one and, as I wrote about in a  previous post,  I was incredibly excited for the second one. This movie is fantastic! The whole gang is together again for another grand adventure. If you liked the first 'RED' you will enjoy this movie. The hilarious chemistry between Willis, Malkovich, and Parker is sharp and clever. The story is exciting, has some good twists, and is generally lighthearted and fun! Naturally, it's not as good as the first one but it's a legit sequel that can stand on its own feet. I can't express how much I love Malkovich in this movie. This is not a serious movie. You don't take things incredibly seriously, you just have fun. If you can do that you will enjoy yourself! I, personally, found myself quite engrossed in the story by the end. Holding my breath! The thing that sets 'RED' and 'RED 2' apart is the character

Saving Mr. Banks

All right people, it's trailer time! Today we have the story of Walt Disney creating 'Mary Poppins'. Here's the trailer. Just try and tell me that doesn't looks good! I'm so excited! It looks incredibly interesting, well acted, beautifully done, and just plain great! I absolutely love the idea of Tom Hanks playing Disney, he'll do a fantastic job. It looks whimsical and witty and I think it will capture that glorious spirit we all know Walt Disney had. The story itself is so intriguing! How did 'Mary Poppins' come to be? I don't know about you, but I want to find out. Honestly, I have very little to say besides that it looks extremely promising! UPDATE: I have Since seen this movie and written a review,  here.

Grace Unplugged

Today I have the trailer for 'Grace Unplugged'. This trailer surprised me. I mean, I actually sat there mouth agape. No, not because the movie looked unbelievably incredible, but because a Christian movie was being released in the theatre. I mean, Lionsgate is involved here, that's a legit company! If you've ever watched a Christian movie I'm sure you know what I mean when I say that they're a bit corny. They try really hard but it's small budget with tiny unknown actors and no one on the crew really has that much experience. It's quite a shame because there is usually some gem of an idea in the middle and it just wasn't managed well. The fact that this kind of movie is coming out with some strength is fantastic! Here is the trailer. Boiled down it's a simple enough story. It's about how hard it is to maintain your morals in an increasingly, shall we say unbounded, world. How much compromise are you willing to make in pursuit of your drea

Blue Jasmine

Good morning movie world! I have a trailer today. The movie is called 'Blue Jasmine'. It's a new drama by Woody Allen. Let's give it a look shall we? Now this trailer intrigues me. It looks interesting, a little whimsical, a bit sad, and even a bit funny. An odd combination. I don't like movies when the people just yell at each other the whole time. This movie   could go that way, but I find myself thinking it won't. The story isn't that unique on it's own: The man cheats and the woman falls apart. I just think this is going to be, different. Cate Blanchett seems to have her work cut out for her! I'm thinking she can pull it off though. I don't know about you, but I know people like her character, the person who is condescending even if they have to stoop to mooching for dear life. They're obnoxious but at the same time you can't help but stare at them and think, "What is going on in that strange little head of yours?"
